Rescue Mission

On my way to work yesterday mornin, I found a giant snapping turtle in the road. I was especially concerned because he was already missing a limb. I knew very little about snapping turtles but come to find out Andrew‘s a pro. I called Andrew, kicking him out of bed again on a day he could sleep in :-( Moms can be such a pain in the butt.

Attempts to lift him, but the shovel’s handle breaks …

What came next made my jaw drop, my son dangled the grabber in front of the turtle who snapped and locked on with a death grip. Andrew then reached behind the turtle and grabbed its tail, lifted and carried the turtle in the direction it was going (Andrew said that was important), plopping it safely in the grass leading to a pond.
